About Iu620	English (USA)
This list intends to sow the seeds of industrial unionsim for IU 620: Campus and Education Workers. It came out of a spontaneous meeting of IU 620 Wobblies from all over the USA at an IWW event in Los Angeles. The list is intended to discuss issues related to organizing in the education industry and to develop strategy. Some of the issues we are attempting to grapple with are: -Organizing in an industry that already has the highest AFL-CIO density in the country, and effectively mobilizing dual-carders. -The role of students in the IU and the relationship be between the union and progressive student organizations. -The issue of budget cuts for public schools and devloping a coherent wobbly alternative to lobbying the Democrats. -Developing solidarity between teachers and staff unions Currently there are members on the list from Hawaii, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and, in Canada, Alberta and Ontario.
